REES is a free platform to help users record domestic violence and abuse actions against them in a safe encrypted space. Users have the option to share their story with Rowan House Society and connect with supports if they choose.

This database will store your self reporting indefinitely - if you choose to report it or take action at any time, your records will be available.

This platform will not file a police report for you but will hold your self-recorded entries in a safe, secure place (your records will only be accessed by your login information). If you choose to share your records, there is an option to print your entries to provide the information to law enforcement or other service providers for help.

What will I see if I log into REES?

  • Create a confidential account

  • Choose to create a record of abuse

    • A guided process to ensure your record of the incident is properly record with a time/date stamp.

    • After your record is completed you can choose to store it on the database and/or connect with Rowan House for support and/or anonymously share the record for data collection.

      • Optional sharing of data: If you choose to share your data anonymously with Rowan House Society, your records will be used to help better serve our community through to inform programming needs and identify gaps in services.

  • Learn more about what domestic violence and abuse is, how the platform works, more about REES, the supports available through Rowan House Society, other supports available in Alberta and how to safely store other pieces of evidence properly.

Rowan House Society’s 24-hour Support Line provides telephone and texting response to all individuals experiencing domestic violence and abuse seeking crisis support, information or navigation to the program or supports that best suit their needs, including:

  • Trauma-informed crisis and emotional support

  • Safety planning

  • Community referrals and advocacy

  • Support available in multiple languages with CanTalk

  • Education and awareness
