Rowan House is always looking for passionate people willing to donate their time and talents to support our work.
At Rowan House, we value the volunteer experience and aim to find a role for each volunteer that speaks to their personal skill set.

Please note: as part of the onboarding process, a criminal record check, interview, and child intervention check will be required. We can provide an official letter to reduce the cost of these checks. Volunteers must be at least 18 years or older to volunteer for Rowan House.
Volunteer Job Board
Awareness Ambassadors: Individuals who enjoy attending community events and would like to support staff at our purple booth to provide information pamphlets on Rowan House, answer questions from the public and collect donations.
This role mainly works weekends. It is busiest in the summer but supports year-round. Additional training provided.Support Volunteers: Individuals who want to support Rowan House but are unable to commit to a regularly scheduled shift. These volunteers would be called upon when the Resource Development team has a large mailing that needs to go out, posters need to be put up in our communities, extra hands are needed on the day-of certain events (eg: our Golf Tournament/Picnic/Half Marathon), or the shelter needs to be decorated for a holiday, etc.
This role requires a few hours, here and there, depending on your availability.Donation Organizers: Individuals who enjoy cleaning and organization and would like to help keep our Essential Needs garage in tip-top shape when large donations of goods come in.
This role requires a few hours each month but is busier in December.Event Committee Members: Individuals who enjoy planning and executing events and would like to assist Rowan House in its fundraising goals. (Golf Tournament, Fall Event, etc.)
This role requires a few hours each month but varies on your specific tasks as each event draws closerShelter Cooks: Individuals who enjoy cooking and would like to prepare dinners, freezer meals and healthy snacks for our Emergency Shelter Clients.
This role requires a few hours each week.Child Support Helpers: Individuals who enjoy spending time with children of all ages and would like to assist our Child Support Workers in the playroom during the day or our evening Healthy Relationship Groups.
This role requires a few hours each week but depends on the clients in shelter at any given time.“Pick-Up” Volunteers: Individuals with the time and means to pick up donations such as our weekly bread collection from Sobeys in High River, as well as our Lunch Program donations.
This role requires a few hours each week.
