Safe at Home
Safe at Home Program (SAH) is designed to be an alternative approach to helping families experiencing domestic violence and abuse. The Safe at Home program provides support to individuals causing harm and want to change behaviours. We provide supportive group education sessions, case planning, goal setting, accountability planning and assessments. Referrals are open to all individuals (18+yrs of age) & professionals looking for programs for those wanting to make changes to abusive or unhealthy behaviors.
SAH GROUP PROGRAM SESSIONS
Registration is free, ongoing & can be attended online or in person at our office in Okotoks, AB.
· Healing Group 1: Participants will explore topics and discuss & reflect on: Defining Abuse, Contributing Factors, Shifting the Blame, Power & Control, Self Intervention & Safety Building, etc.
Start Date: January 7, 2024- February 25, 2024 6:00 -8:00 pm. (Tuesday Evenings)
Healing Group 2: *For graduates of Healing Group 1* - Participants will explore topics and discuss & reflect on:
· Healthy Vs Unhealthy Relationships, Intensity Vs. Independence, Disrespect vs. Loyalty, Guilt vs. Taking Responsibility, etc.
Start Date: January 9, 2024- March 6, 2024
6:00 -8:00 pm (Thursday evenings)
*Certificates of completing will be provided upon completion of programs
COOL DOWN
A preventative option for individuals who are taking accountability and want to stop intimate partner violence. Safe at Home can provide those wanting to access the cool down approach with a hotel stay for 2-5 nights, to remove themselves from an unhealthy situation. Participants will work with a Safe at Home Outreach Worker on accountability planning that is centered on building safety.
